Kalibata Pulo Soundscape

Presentasi Publik Perdana Sigisora

Kalibata Pulo Soundscape

Sigisora’s 1st Public Presentation

From 28–30 April 2024, Sigisora held its first public presentation, titled Kalibata Pulo Soundscape, at Forum Lenteng, Jakarta. The event marked the initial outcome of Sigisora’s work, an initiative focused on exploring urban and natural soundscapes and their socio-political contexts through artistic approaches, with Kalibata Pulo, South Jakarta, serving as its first research site.

The presentation featured four soundscape works presented at Forum Lenteng Cinema. These works were accompanied by visual elements, including colour compositions and photography, to enrich the listening experience. The exhibition space also included photographic documentation from Kalibata Pulo, alongside speculative visual works that emerged from impressions, observations, and discussions developed throughout the research and production process.

Through this event, Sigisora sought to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on urban soundscapes while creating a space for reflection on the relationships between environment, community, and listening practices.

Sigisora extends its appreciation to the Forum Lenteng community, MILISIFILEM Collective, and all visitors who attended the presentation. Special thanks are dedicated to the residents of Kalibata Pulo, whose contributions and participation were essential to the creation of the works presented.
